Education & Literacy Promotion Program

Introduction
The right to education is fundamental human rights set forth in the universal declaration of human rights and the international human rights covenants. It occupies a central place in human rights and is essential and indispensable for the exercise of all other human rights. However, in spite of all the commitments made by government for providing free and compulsory quality basic education, millions of children still remain deprived of educational opportunities many of them on account of poverty.

Achieving the right to basic education is thus one of the biggest moral challenges of our times.
HANDS education and literacy promotion program improves the literacy status of poor and marginalized children and adults through formal and non-formal education both in private and public sectors.
